White Sox star Eloy Jimenez to debut in the 2021 season Monday

U Chicago White Sox the line is on track to receive a significant boost.

Director Tony La Russa has announced that outfielder Eloy Jiménez will be activated from the injured list and will make his 2021 season debut Monday against the Kansas City Royals, according to James Athletic of The Athletic.

Jimenez missed the first four months of the season after breaking his chest tendon during spring training.

The 24-year-old had a monstrous season for the White Doctors in 2020, hitting .296 / .332 / .559 with 14 home runs and 41 RBIs in 55 games, earning his first Silver Slugger award.

While Jimenez has to return, the White Doctors are still without Nick Madrigal, Luis Robert, Jake Lamb, Yasmani Grandal and Evan Marshall for injuries.

Despite the team’s injury struggles, Chicago is first in AL Central with a 58-40 record, holding an 8.5-game lead over second-placed Cleveland Indians.
