U Los Angeles Lakers they are expected to see some changes this season that comes after an early exit from the postseason. A home upgrade involves the number of jerseys LeBron James will give for the 2021-22 NBA season.
Shams Charania of Athletic released the news Wednesday that James will change his jersey number from number 23 to number 6.
As noted in Charania’s tweet, Anthony Davis will continue to lead a No. 3 with the Lakers even though the No. 23, which he wore before going to LA, is now available.
James carried the No. 23 during the two seasons with the Knights. However, when he decided to take his talents to South Beach to play for the Miami Heat, he changed to a No. 6 and then returned to No. 23 after his return to Cleveland in 2014.
After James settled on a move to LA in the summer of 2018, he did elected to remain with No. 23 with the Lakers.
Coincidentally, it appears that James’ decision to return to a No. 6 jersey is at least tangentially linked to the imminent release of “Space Jam: A New LegacyThis summer.
As James and the Lakers embark on a critical season, the superstar also made it clear that the bitter end of the team’s challenging season left him even more famous usually amid disappointment. In a recent Instagram post, James promised “revenge” on the NBA while sharing footage from the hit movie “Gladiator”.
Now, with Wednesday’s news, it’s clear that James will embark on his revenge tour during the 2021-22 season with a No. 6 stamp printed on his Lakers jersey.
