The Celtics add Damon Stoudamire to Ime Udoka’s coaching staff

Boston Celtics boss Ime Udoka has finally added another assistant to his staff coach.

According to Jeff Goodman of the Stadium, University of the Pacific coach and former NBA top goalkeeper Damon Stoudamire joins Udoka’s coaching staff in Boston.

Udoka and Stoudamire grew up together in Portland. Stoudamire also spent eight seasons with the Trail Blazers from the 1997-98 season to the 2004-05 season and spent time with the Toronto Raptors, San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies in his 13-year career.

Stoudamire has a 71-77 record as a coach but led the Pacific Tigers to one of their best seasons in 2019-20 with a 23-10 record (11-5 at the West Coast Conference).

Udoka has already added former San Antonio Spurs assistant Will Hardy to his staff.

In his introductory press conference, Udoka suggested that he be interested in bringing in his own staff to replace the coaches that Brad Stevens had last season.
