Some Jaguars assistants received COVID-19 vaccines to avoid losing Tier 1 status.


The NFL Association and NFL Players do not force players to receive COVID-19 vaccines to participate in organized team activities, mandatory minicamps, training camps, show games or the regular season. However, reports surfaced last Friday that assistant coaches of at least four teams could lose their Tier 1 status because they were not yet vaccinated. Attendees who are not vaccinated at the end of this week may be prohibited from having face-to-face contact with players and being held outside of practice fields and outside meeting rooms.

According to Michael David Smith by Pro Football Talk, Jacksonville Jaguars Chief Urban Meyer told reporters Tuesday that several attendees received his blows after last week’s warning. Mia O’Brien of First Coast News added:
