Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic came back after beating the first two groups of Sunday’s French Open final to beat Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-7 (6), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4, taking his 19th Grand Slam title.
Djokovic’s second trophy at the French Open moves him only one championship shy of the men’s record-breaking 20-year tie shared by Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
The 34-year-old is also the first man in Open Age history to win all four Grand Slam titles twice. He won the French Open in 2016, has nine wins at the Australian Open, five at Wimbledon and three at the US Open.
Djokovic, the reigning Australian Open champion, is halfway to a Grand Slam of the calendar year, something no one has done since Rod Laver in 1969.
Wimbledon will start on June 28, and the US Open will start on August 30.
