Naomi Osaka retires from Wimbledon, will play in the Olympics


World No. 2 Naomi Osaka continues her break for at least the first Grand Slam of the summer.

In order ESPN and other selling points, the Osaka team confirmed through a statement that it will not play at the Wimbledon Championships opening June 28th.

“Naomi will not be playing Wimbledon this year,” the statement says. “She takes some personal time with friends and family. She will be ready for the Olympics and is excited to play in front of her home fans.”
