The latest Utah Jazz pitcher Mike Conley started dealing with during last Wednesday’s win over the Memphis Grizzlies who finished the first-round series does so much better six days after the fact.
Utah has confirmed that the 33-year-old called up All-Star for the first time this season will miss Tuesday’s game 1 against the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference semifinals due to a tight muscle strain. According to Tim MacMahon of ESPN, Conley missed nine games in late April and May due to a similar controversy.
Conley was limited in practice Monday before the Jazz confirmed he will be out at least Tuesday night.
“We hope to find him as soon as possible,” jazz coach Quin Snyder told reporters. “But these things are hard to predict.”
Conley averaged 16.2 points, 6.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds in 51 regular-season games during the 2020-21 season. His status for Game 2 set for Thursday night is up in the air.
