Lue: Overcoming the 3-1 deficit is “very feasible”

U Los Angeles Clippers are on the verge of elimination after an 84-80 loss in Game 4 against the Phoenix Suns Saturday night. However, coach Tyronn Lue believes his team can recover from a 3-1 series deficit.

The teams have successfully returned from a 3-1 series deficit 13 times in NBA history, with the Denver Nuggets being the most recent to make it back to last year’s Orlando bubble.

Lue is the only head coach to make such a comeback in the NBA Finals, doing so with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016.

The Clippers have also come back from series 2-0 defeats twice this postseason, first against the Dallas Mavericks and again against the Utah Jazz.

It will be particularly difficult for LA to get back into this series, however, with Game 5 returning to Phoenix. The Clippers are also unlikely to have superstar Kawhi Leonard due to a knee injury, added to his challenges.

Game 5 is scheduled for Monday night.
