Toronto Raptors star Kyle Lowry could be very much a member of the Miami Heat coming Monday night.
According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, All signs point to Lowry joining Jimmy Butler and the Heat this summer via sign-and-trade with the Raptors.
Lowry’s interest in Miami came as no surprise. He has been close with Butler since he shared the court with the Heat star at the 2016 Olympics.
The moment Miami took Goran Dragic’s $ 19.4 million team option for the 2021-22 season, league staff began to speculate that Lowry would end up in South Beach, according to Fischer.
Dragic would probably head to Toronto in a sign and exchange for Lowry, Fischer adds. The deal could also include Precious Achiuwa.
While the New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks were interested in Lowry, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN informs that teams are starting to look elsewhere for help from the starting point.
Wojnarowski adds that Lowry is looking for a $ 30 million neighborhood deal a year for several years with his new team.
The 35-year-old has been six-time All-Star since arriving in Toronto in 2012 and helped the franchise win an NBA title in 2019. Last season, he averaged 17.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 7.3 assists per game while shooting 43.6% from field and 39.6% from depth.
