NBA teams have come to call respect Juwan Howard, but he denies that interest.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Thursday that Howard doesn’t allow any discussions about Michigan’s departure for the NBA.
Howard comes from a successful season in Michigan. He had the Wolverines in the top five for most of the campaign. They finished first in the Big Ten (amid some controversy), and were No. 4 in the last AP poll despite losing to the Elite Eight.
The 48-year-old had the opportunity to lead his alma mater and did admirably last season. Leaving after only two seasons would be disrespectful to the school and the opportunity gave them. It seems Howard recognizes her and wants to continue to build on her success.
Howard played in the NBA from 1994-2013. He has been an assistant with the Miami Heat since 2013-2019. Howard is now entering his third season in Michigan.
