Jake Fraley tests positive for COVID, it is symptomatic

Field of sailors Jake Fraley will go on the COVID-19 injury list, with an outside teammate Dillon Thomas be called upon to take their place on the active list. Manager Scott Servais revealed that Fraley gave positive tests for COVID-19 and also had symptoms, according to Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times. Servais said most of the players Fraley was in close contact with were vaccinated, so they are hoping which will stop the virus from spreading further.

This is a very unfortunate development for what had previously been a disappointing year for Fraley. So far it has set a line of .237 / .409 / .439, with a wRC + of 143 and 1.1 fWAR. Now you will have to isolate for at least 10 days, for legacy protocols, and try to validate it.

For Thomas, this will be his second stint with the team after a two-game coffee cup last month. In Triple-A this year, it’s down .260 / .376 / .429, good enough for a wRC + of 103.
