Federer’s oldest to reach the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in Open Era

Tennis legend Roger Federer recently made history from becoming the older man in 46 years to reach the third round of Wimbledon.

The biggest of all time, turning 40 next month, didn’t end there.

On Monday, Federer defeated Lorenzo Sonego 7-5, 6-4, 6-2 to become the oldest man to reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals of the Open Era that he began in 1968.
