Yu Darvish’s time with the Chicago Cubs it may be in the past, but it’s clear the pitcher has fond memories of his three seasons with the dance club, particularly the strong relationship he has had with Anthony Rizzo.
Darvish was dealt with the Padres last season, and the Cubs were at Petco Park this week for a three-game series. Wednesday’s game marked Darvish’s first start against his former team.
In the second season of National League Cy Young, the second-place winner won Rizzo’s patented music during his fight at the bottom of the third inning in homage to his former teammate. Martin Solveig & GTA’s “Intoxicated” song is what the first Cubs basman uses in front of his boats at Wrigley Field.
Darvish’s wide smile as he approached the plate really says it all.
