Derek Carr continues to discuss a possible meeting with Davante Adams.
The Las Vegas Raiders quarterback, who played with the Green Bay Packers wide receiver at Fresno State, said on Cris Collinsworth’s podcast that the rules of manipulation do not apply to players. So, he will continue to talk to Adams about a move to Las Vegas.
“Ahead, he’s one of my best friends,” Carr said, as transcribed by Pro Football Talk. “I’m going to offer him everything I’m going to offer him. I’m going to buy him a car, everything I’m going to do is I’m going to offer that man. I know he would fit in well with the receivers we have here. fits so well in that room.I am allowed to say these things. Our organization is not, but I will say.He is my best friend, I think he is one of the best – he is the best receiver in the NFL. “
Carr added that his ideal scenario would be for the Raiders to beat the Packers in the Super Bowl and then Adams signed with Las Vegas on free agency.
“He’s focused on being a Packer and I know why I see how he works,” Carr said. “I know how it works and I know how much it means to him. If he’s focused on that and I’m focused on trying to get to the Super Bowl, win the Super Bowl, hopefully he’s in it so he can beat his ass too. Here’s the plan, then recruit it to the dark side. ”
Carr’s comments come later Adams said last week which would be a “dream” to play back with the Raiders quarterback. However, he said this recently in an interview with Graham Matthews of Bleacher Report that he wants to stay in Green Bay beyond the 2021 season.
Adams enters the final season of his four-year deal and will be a free agent in 2022 if he does not agree to an extension with the Packers. He led the NFL with 18 touchdowns last season in what has been one of his best years in the league.
