Tom Brady’s drama is like Thanksgiving. It doesn’t come very often, but when it does come, we party. Brady has been through his two-decade career only giving us bloody dramatic fanatics minor looks at what’s really going on behind the scenes. He gave us one of those looks towards the end of his career with the Patriots. While Brady always made sure to talk a lot about Bill Belichick during his departure from New England, it was obvious the relationship between the two it had become a little tumultuous.
Other than that, Brady gave us little. We got broken. Of course, there was the MAGA hat in his locker room, and a clip of him during a 2019 loss to Houston where he appears to have chewed his wide receivers. (Not his “wife’s recipients,” as the tweet below suggests.)
But those were just unpaid speculations, brief glances at Brady’s personal life, not hard enough evidence for anyone to be truly immersive. However, in the last trailer of an HBO episode In the Shop aired this Friday, Brady talks about his free agency before last season. In the clip, Brady says, “One of the teams, they weren’t interested in the end. And I thought to myself, ‘Are you sticking to that mom -?'” The promotion cut just before what we all knew was coming. You can watch it below.
At last! That’s what I’ve been waiting for! WOOOOO! Tom Brady essentially dismisses another quarterback, implying that it’s an absolute disguise that a team will even consider picking that quarterback over Brady. It’s good stuff. The only problem is … Brady doesn’t tell us which team / quarterback he is referring to. Maybe I’ll go deeper into the full episode of the show, but I’m too impatient to wait for that. After all, isn’t the best part of any show, or piece of gossip, the time before you know exactly what’s going on, when everyone pulls out wild theories and tries to guess what’s going on? It’s the best part. As soon as Game over he gave us all the answers, the show was not good.
So, with that said, we pull out some wild theories and look at what Brady might have been (probably) referring to in that short clip.
