2021-22 MLB Free Agent Power Ratings


It’s now a new rate in our 2021-22 MLB Free Agents Power Ranking, where we rank players for their potential winning potential if they reach the open market as expected. For this exercise, I leave aside the uncertainty of the collective agreement expiring on December 1st. For the full list of free agents, click here.

1. Corey Seager. Seager suffered a broken hand after being hit by a pitch in mid-May, and appears likely to return in early July. It will be interesting to see how Seager hits once and for all. In 169 plate appearances to start the season, it stands at 122 wRC +. It’s hard work, but perhaps a little short of Seager’s own standards, since he entered the season with a career-high 130.
